AUTC teaching criteria self-check.

The Australian University Teaching Criteria & Standards describe quality teaching across seven criteria — and what they look like at each academic level. The shift up the levels is one of scope of impact: from your own classroom, to your program, to your institution, to the sector. Map your evidence and see where it meets your level — and where to build it.

Lecturer (A)own practice
Lecturer (B)practice + emerging
Senior Lecturer (C)program / team
Assoc Professor (D)institutional
Professor (E)sector / national
Evidence is the currency. For each criterion, good cases draw on the three classic sources: student feedback & outcomes, peer review of teaching, and reflective practice — triangulated, not just survey scores. A "gap" here isn't a fail; it's the next thing to build before you put your case forward.
